Sometimes I paint a group of alters themed after something specific. The first group I painted this way with original fan art was these 5 cards themed after the Legend of Zelda games.
A Stoneforge Mystic with princess Zelda and the Master Sword as they appear in the The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
For this I painted Agahnim and Zelda as they appear in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
And this Swamp has Midna from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

These two cards are an attempt to make some nouveau themed alters with original art not based straightly on existing Alphonse Mucha's paintings.
The first one is a Jhoira of the Ghitu:
The sketch I made on paper before I work on the card.
The other one is a second try on a Jace I've done before, here it is:
And the first sketch I based it on:

Two cards I have made, inspired by classic horror literature, both in total black and white.
The first is a Dark Ritual, created for an altered art contest, with some Cthulhu fan art. Some of the details are not even from H.P. Lovecraft's work: the book (De Vermis Mysteriis) is from Robert Bloch's Cthulhu mythos works (who also wrote Psycho) and the flavor text is actually from a Cthulhu related internet meme!
Also this is the testing sketch for the card.

The next on is fan art based on Edgar Allan Poe's classic, the Black Cat. I like the fact that the flavor text coincidentally (?) matches Poe's story.
